JournoDAO Weekly: The Mint Is On

Yesterday we finally launched our Founder NFT and opened up the mint to the public. And to our ecstatic surprise, we already had our first mint! Who is this rebel who flaunted our clear instructions NOT to mint the NFT?

It is none other than Evan Hansen, a Director of Curation at Twitter, and co-founder of our partner Factland DAO. Although I do know Evan quite well, I had no idea he had even heard about the launch until he had already minted.

So please go give Evan a follow on Twitter and share his post so we can start to find our true 1,000 fans.

We've also heard feedback from people who would like to support the DAO but the price of 2 ETH is too steep. It's indeed too spendy even for some of us "Core Team" members.

We'll likely be formalizing some sort of application process for people who would be great additions to the Founder NFT community but don't have a spare 2 ETH. Like I said, a few of us "insiders" will likely also go through this same process. Each application could be put to a DAO vote as well. We have 200 reserved NFTs for this purpose.

Spreading the #Web3 Media Mission Worldwide

The word is out that there's something to this whole Web3 thing that TradMedia and OG Journos might want to learn about. JournoDAO is honored to have been invited to participate in the 10th edition of Media Party in Buenos Aires, Argentina next month.

With the support of Decentraland, The International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) and Hacks/Hackers Buenos Aires, we'll be on hand to give a keynote talk, hold a workshop and provide some mentoring for a hack-a-thon during the 3-day event at the crossroads of media and tech.

We're also considering sending a squad to Denver in September around the time of MCon 2 and definitely going to be presenting at the Online News Association Conference in Los Angeles that same month, where we'll also be pulling together a meetup of our own.
